LABORATORY OF BIOLOGICAL ANTHROPOLOGY

About

The Laboratory of Biological Anthropology (LBA) provides research and teaching in the field of biological anthropology with a focus on human ecology, bioarchaeology and hard tissue anthropology, paleoanthropology, human adaptability and variability, and the use of statistical methods in anthropological research.
The laboratory contains an osteological collection and models of paleoanthropological specimens, which are mainly used for teaching osteology, paleoanthropology and paleopathology.
The laboratory includes equipment for osteological research as well as for the application of more advanced methods such as 3D modelling and 3D printing and microscopic analysis.
Our aim is to create a base for broader multidisciplinary cooperation not only within the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, but also with other domestic and foreign departments.
