About the caat

The Centre for Applied Anthropology and Field Research (CAAT) is a research units established at the Department of Anthropology of the Faculty of Anthropology of the Faculty of Arts, University of West Bohemia.
The basic framework of CAAT’s activities is applied anthropology and the concept of field research, which represents a key methodological tool not only for “classical” social and cultural anthropology, but increasingly also for practice-oriented analyses in the environment of contemporary complex societies. The Centre has experience in dealing with projects for state and municipal authorities, the non-governmental and non-profit sector and international organizations.
